Getting Information

At Solor we understand the important role that families, carers and other involved people play in the network of support for the people that receive services.  It is very difficult to make choices about the type of care and support that someone very special to you may require and therefore getting information that truly represents the service on offer is essential in supporting the decision making process to choose Solor as a care and support provider.

It is extremely important to us that everybody feels that they have made the right decision in regards to the service that is chosen and therefore Solor will support the assessment and transition process from beginning to end, ensuring that all the information that people require is readily available, in order that an informed choice can be made.

Solor will undertake a comprehensive assessment and compatibility assessment, that means that we look at the same things that you would consider.  This includes the person’s abilities, their care and support needs in terms of hours and equipment and accommodation.  We would look at their age, gender, likes and dislikes in order to ascertain the type of support workers that would best deliver the best care and support, and that the person could communicate and interact well with.  We would consider whether people wish to live alone or whether they are compatible with a peer group and want to have a shared environment, what situation would provide the best social interaction, what service would give someone the greatest amount of freedom, independence, interaction in order that they can thrive and develop their skills and abilities.
