Helen's Story
I moved into a registered service a long time ago. I needed help with lots of things – like washing, dressing, cooking, going out to town shopping and budgeting money.
It was very difficult to settle into the house with other people and support workers that I did not know. Over time, I got to know lots of people and the people in the house were very friendly, and I found I had lots in common with them.
Today I do all my own laundry and cooking. I love going out to college and swimming, and I have a lot of independence. I am talking to my key worker about moving with my friend in the house to a supported living flat with Solor, and some of the support workers might come with us. We are very excited!
