Complex & Challenging Behaviours & Mental Health Needs
Solor supports people with a wide range of complex behaviours that may challenge a service. We can offer the support someone needs in a wide variety of intensive support services, from highly supported registered homes through to supported living and outreach support. We also support people in behaviour assessment and intervention services and can take people in an emergency situation that require this intensive support.
People may present with a mild, moderate or severe/profound learning disability or an Acquired brain injury. Mental health needs including schizophrenia, depression, personality disorder, self-harm behaviours, emotional and psychological needs, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers and Prader-Willi and other syndromes as well as drug and alcohol dependency.
At Solor we have trained and qualified PRO-ACT SCIP trainers who support staff to understand the function of the persons behaviour and work to modify this using person centred, positive behaviour support plans. The staff offer structured routines with clear and consistent boundaries, supporting people to regain control of their emotions and behaviour through developing personnel coping mechanisms.
Staff support people to develop life skills and make the right choices for themselves, gaining confidence and self esteem.
Our staff have the training and experience to support people who may have had several placement breakdowns, or who are moving on from a period in Treatment and Assessment, in hospital or who have found it difficult to make the transition to living and maintaining their own tenancy.
We ensure that we proactively and consistently support people to develop and establish relationships to enable people to positively move on to less supported services.
We ensure that the right support is given, at the right time. We develop relationships with, or provide ourselves, a network of support that is fully informed and consistent. Forming partnerships with psychiatry, psychology, nurse specialists, learning disability teams and others, allows us to focus on the individual and provide the right support to ensure they realise their desired outcomes.
