Physical Disabilities & Complex Healthcare Needs
Solor are specialists in delivering care and support to people with a wide range of needs due to their physical disabilities and complex healthcare needs.
We understand that people can have very differing needs when they have a learning disability and profound physical disabilities and, whilst the staff work with their understanding of the individual’s learning disability, they also ensure that the person’s physical needs have the least impact on their lives. We support complex healthcare needs, sensory impairments, epilepsy, postural management as well as people’s daily routines through nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social care. Solor provides specialist and adapted equipment and environments as well as access to our own Hydrotherapy pools, sensory gardens and adapted vehicles.
The staff are trained to provide support to people with a range of mobility needs, feeding difficulties and those needing continence care. They will actively support communication utilising a range of different tools such as sign-along Makaton and switches and communication boxes.
We also provide services for people with an Acquired Brain Injury where 24 hour nursing support and social care are provided to enable people to live as independently as possible. Staff are trained to understand the emotional, social, communication difficulties and physical disabilities that people may have with an acquired brain injury and work to ensure they are able to recognise their goals and achieve their outcomes.
In order that a person can fulfil their potential and meet their goals and dreams they need to stay well. At Solor we ensure that this balance is achieved.
